Policies and Procedures

Procedures for grant application

A: POLICIES: Just Some Few Rules of Engagement to Guide Us

 01  Kaiama Busuneno Students Only!

Our policy is that the financial aid grants we avail to beneficiaries shall be only for:

  • Kaiama busuneno indigenes, both male and female;
  • Who are students pursuing undergraduate degree programmes;
  • In regcognised public Universities across Nigeria.

Only in the event that we are able to gather more resources in future may we consider other categories of beneficiaries, such as primary and secondary school pupils and/or our kith and kin from Baruten and the entire Borgu Kingdom.

 02  Verification of beneficiaries is mandatory

Every beneficiary shall be verified at two levels before they may be considered for award of grants, viz:

  1. At the level of genuine Kaiama indigeneship, and
  2. At the level of genuine enrolment for an undegraduate programme in a recognised institution.

The second level of verification shall be conducted every Academic Session to ensure that those who graduate or leave their studies for whatever reason do not continue to benefit at the expense of more deserving fellows.

 03  Beneficiaries may get more than one grant

Given that we have a diversified categorization of the grants we offer, our policy allows that any particular beneficiary may be able to receive more than one grant in the course of his/her studies. However, multiple applications for the same grant in the same Academic year is not allowed.

 04  Relatives of Founders are not eligible

Direct relatives of the Founders (i.e. their children and/or siblings) are not eligible to benefit from the financial aid grants we offer. They can, however, still register on this platform and benefit from other non-financial programmes we may come up with to assist our students from time to time.

 05  No automatic qualification to win grants

Applying for a grant does not automatically qualify a beneficiary to receive the grant. By our policies, the Founders reserve the right to determine who eventually receives a grant or who does not. Every beneficiary whose grant application is approved will receive automatic notification via e-mail and also via their dashboard when they log in to the portal. Declined applicants will also be notified accordingly.

 06  Grants must be disbursed within 48 hours

Founders are obliged to do everything possible to ensure that all approved grants are always disbursed immediately. No approved grant should remain undisbursed for more than 48 hours after approval. Disbursements shall be by electronic funds transfer to the beneficiaries’ designated bank accounts as specified by them on this platform.

 07  Beneficiaries must acknowledge receipt of funds

Our policies require that for every financial aid that is approved and disbursed to a beneficiary, the beneficiary must acknowledge receipt of the disbursement within 72 hours (3 days) or they will be prevented from enjoying any future benefits for one Academic session.

Beneficiaries can acknowledge receipt of their disbursements by logging onto their dashboard and clicking the "Track my Grants" link to see all their grants, including those that have been disbursed and are awaiting acknowledgement.

 08  Beneficiaries shall be worthy ambassadors

Every beneficiary who willingly registers on this platform in order to be considered for award of financial aid grants shall be undertaking that everywhere they go, and whatever they do, they shall always strive to be excellent ambassadors of the good people of Kaiama.

Any beneficiary who fails to be found worthy in learning and in character shall be blacklisted and may never again enjoy any support from the Founders in future.

 09  Political, ethnic and religious neutrality

Our efforts are geared towards harnessing ideas and resources in a concerted manner for the good of Kaiama and our people. To the extent that we endeavour to bring educational development to our beloved Kaiama land, our policies shall not allow our decisions to be influenced by political, ethnic or religious differences.

Everyone, including non-Bokobaru indigenes of Kaiama, is welcome to benefit from our efforts irrespective of their original tribe, ethnicity, religion or political backgrounds. The Founders shall always remain neutral to everyone’s personal views.

 10  No obligation to private correspondence

While efforts shall be made to keep an open-door and welcoming policy to all, the Founders are under no obligation whatsoever to enter into any private correspondence with beneficiaries concerning decisions made by the Founders about applications for financial aid grants.

All correspondences with beneficiaries shall primarily be through e-mail and on this portal, though phone calls or SMS messaging alternativees could be utilized from time to time.
