They had been on it for some years but bringing it to reality had not been possible until now. They created this platform to make it easier for potential beneficiaries to apply for various grants online as those grants become available on the one hand; and for them (the Founders) to easily administer the affairs of the initiative.
It does not really matter, since we are determined to help every son and daughter of Kaiama as much as we can. We encourage you all to strive for academic excellence though; because competition out there is cut-throat high and you must work hard and look beyond here at all times.
Every indigene of Kaiama is welcome to benefit from our efforts irrespective of their original tribe, ethnicity or religion.
We are unable to cater for the needs of Kaiama Busuneno students below university undergraduate degree programmes at this time. We really, seriously want to help with our people's education at all levels; but we don’t want to look at the education of the entire population of our young ones in Kaiama at all levels as our total responsibility. No, that would be insane!
But we are looking at the individual level of starting things first. If we can start even with only one person at a time — just one, one, one person... then we must start with that one person and build up from there.
The paucity of funds notwithstanding, we are really working hard and praying that our humble beginnings here will blossom into a stronger financial strength that will enable us expand and sustain this important community development effort to also cater for more beneficiaries at every level in future.
All grants availed to beneficiaries are non-refundable; meaning that it is a gift of love that they are not required to refund!
Beneficiaries are, however, encouraged to reciprocate by ensuring that the little funds they receive are put to wise and profitable use for the attainment of the educational goals they are pursuing.
Every beneficiary who receives funds from us is expected to consciously commit that everywhere they go, and whatever they do, they shall always strive to be excellent ambassadors of the good people of Kaiama. That is how they can "pay us back" for the little assitance we render.
Sorry, we are not in a position to influence the authorities of any University on their decisions to admit students. A great percentage of admissions is based on merit, though there are considerations for quota system and for people coming from educationally less-advantaged areas. We strongly encourage everyone to work hard and be on the merit list, rather than rely on fall-back options like lobying or quota systems.
We set aside something from our meagre salaries every month and from other passive sources of income that we manage to generate. We target what we wish to achieve every quarter of every year and we work towards raising the necessary funds to achieve our set objectives, which overal goal is to take care of the educational needs of our priceless sons and daughters of Kaiama, no matter how small.
